What are the fully qualified domain names (FQDNs) of Cloud RADIUS servers
In this topic, you will learn about fully qualified domain names (FQDNs) for Portnox™ Cloud RADIUS servers.
Some NAS devices, such as Aruba 6300m, do not accept RADIUS server IP addresses for RadSec configuration and require a fully qualified domain name (FQDN). Other devices, such as Cisco Catalyst 9800, require both the FQDN and the IP address of the RADIUS server for RadSec configuration.
Here is an example log from an Aruba 6300m device showing an error caused by using an IP address instead of an FQDN in the RadSec configuration:
2025-07-25:10:57:29.255718|port-accessd|LOG_ERR|CDTR|1|PKI|PKI_APPS|Certificate SAN/CN doesn't match the peer name 20.119.69.248.
If your NAS device requires an FQDN, use the following FQDNs in the RadSec configuration instead of Portnox Cloud RADIUS server IP addresses:
| IP address | FQDN |
|---|---|
| 52.232.122.157 | clear-rad-uugrpudv.portnox.com |
| 52.166.131.131 | clear-rad-lbrdmxbk.portnox.com |
| 13.90.229.234 | clear-rad.portnox.com |
| 20.119.69.248 | clear-rad-niqthmnz.portnox.com |
